A daffodil's feelings



And suddenly
This strange idea
To feel what feels a daffodil.

I glared and watched,
I stared, first apart,
Wanting to reach its heart

And there it was!

First I felt fused
A bit confused
But then the sun
In a slight stroke
Shook me softly
And cleared my doubts

Bright, golden, lovely,
I had found the way to stand proudly,
Enjoying life as it should be

And when the wind blew over me
And took one petal far from me
This loss was not heavy to me
I had felt the power to be free

Here standing
There flying.

Showing a sunny sight
Even to darkened lights
