It is Mr. Lang's wish not to show instructions for his rose on our website. To respect his request, you will not be able to learn A Miura-ken Beauty Rose, opus 482 from here.

This page is for those who want the instruction to fold a A Miura-ken Beauty Rose, opus 482 ( Lang Rose ). Lang made a crease pattern (CP) for his rose and you can download it from his web site. However, I personally like to start from a plane square paper and also I don't want to see lines printed on a paper. So, I will not use this CP.

Lang's diagram is shown in Origami Tanteidan 12th convention book. So you can learn his rose from the book. But the instruction shown here is somewhat different from Lang's diagram.

Lang's rose has 25 petals and it might be the most difficult rose you might have encountered to fold through. It has 135 steps. So you are expected to be patient with this rose. I recommend you to use a plain printer paper to start folding this rose because you will not make a beautiful rose at the first time.

Are you ready for a challenge?

Let's get started then.

If you find any bugs on this instruction, please send an email to HyoAhn's email so that I correct it as soon as possible..

You may use any kind of paper to fold the Lang's rose flower. It is recommended to use a paper with the same color and texture for both front and back sides. Make sure the paper that you use is a square (all sides are equal and all the angles equal 90 degrees). But here I used different texture for both front and back sides for you to see the difference. Regularly we used the paper of 20cm x 20cm square one. But here I used 25cm x 25cm paper instead. The reason is this rose becomes very small when I used 20cm x 20cm since it generates 25 petals. If you want to use a calyx with 10cm x 10cm paper, then it is recommended for you to use 25cm x 25cm paper.

The back side is the same as the front side.

Prepare for a mountain-fold.

1. Wandering

Moderately fast

Wandering is the miller's joy,
Wandering!
He must be a miserable miller,
Who never likes to wander.
Wandering!

We've learned this from the water,
From the water!
It does not rest by day or night,
It's always thinking of its journey,
The water.

We see this also with the wheels,
With the wheels!
They don't like to stand still,
And go all day without tiring.
The wheels.

The stones themselves, heavy though they are,
The stones!
They join in the cheerful dance,
And want to go yet faster.
The stones!

Oh, wandering, wandering, my joy,
Oh, wandering!
Oh, Master and Mistress,
Let me continue in peace,
And wander!
