This
page is for those who want the instructions to fold a Fan Origami Calyx. This is a calyx that you need when you put a stem to your rose. It is somewhat difficult to fold compare to the Standard Origami Calyx. If you have not folded the standard calyx yet, please learn it first before working on this calyx.
You may use any kind of paper to fold this calyx (*it is easier if the front and the back side of the paper are
slightly different whether it be in texture or color).
Make sure the paper
that you use is a square(all sides are equal and all the angles
equal 90 degrees). The paper I am using here is 10cm x 10cm square one.
00A.
The paper size of the base should be 1/4 of the rose paper.
00B.
However, if your rose is any of "Easy Origami Rose", then your paper for the calyx should be 3/4 of height and width of the paper of your rose.

LOVELY Semiramis
Closes her slanting eyes:
Dead is she long ago.
From her fan, sliding slow,
Parrot-bright fire's feathers,
Gilded as June weathers,
Plumes bright and shrill as grass
Twinkle down; as they pass
Through the green glooms in Hell
Fruits with a tuneful smell,
Grapes like an emerald rain,
Where the full moon has lain,
Greengages bright as grass,
Melons as cold as glass,
Piled on each gilded booth,
Feel their cheeks growing smooth.
Apes in plumed head-dresses
Whence the bright heat hisses,--
Nubian faces, sly
Pursing mouth, slanting eye,
Feel the Arabian
Winds floating from the fan.
