Sweet Phlox

The sweet smell of phlox,
Broke the night air.
I found I felt lonely
With no one to share.

This delicate fragrance,
That springs forth in my nose.
Welled up inside me,
And I discovered a rose.

She walks tall and smiling
As I search her bright eyes.
She keeps my hopes lively,
While clouds surf the skies.

She's the rose I found blooming,
A flower of elegant style.She is a soft striking beauty,
That melts me with her smile.

The phlox and their presence,
Slowed my hurried pace.
But the rose I fell in love with,
With her innocent grace.

I'll ever be thankful,
As the love in me grows.
The reason my heart beats,
She's my wonderful rose.
